Great sloppy joes with just the right amount of sauce and flavors that will make your pallet do cartwheels.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup carrot (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup celery (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 large yellow onion (minced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp spicy brown mustard
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp adobo seasoning
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat medium frying pan on medium high heat and add oil. Then add ground beef. Cook until brown, about 7-8 minutes. Drain fat. Add carrots, celery, and onions, cook until tender, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients and allow to simmer for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Heat hamburger buns in oven on 250 for 7-8 minutes. Serve meat mixture on warm buns.

Notes

If you are not one that likes all of the seasoning you are more than welcome to substitute the adobo seasoning for pink Himalayan salt or whichever you prefer.
